Health & Safety: First Aid Awareness
| Description | The basic first aid course is a short course intended to give staff an awareness of basic first aid knowledge and techniques. Staff attending the course are not expected to provide first aid but could assist a first aider in treating an injured party. Diagnosis and priorities, asphyxia, asthma, shock, heart attacks. Taking the pulse, placing the casualty in the recovery position, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and emergency action. Choking - how to cope, management of fractures and the care and control of spinal injuries.
Who is it for? All University Staff Additional Information: This course is delivered by St John Ambulance.
