The University has almost 1,000 important and diverse artworks worth over £2 million and exhibitions are held on the Streatham Campus regularly. Recent exhibitions have featured work by prominent artists such as Lucian Freud and Bridget Riley.
Fine art collection
Anyone who is interested in fine art is encouraged to visit our galleries on the Streatham Campus, which regularly display work by local and nationally acclaimed artists. You can also view some of the most important artworks in our online gallery. A series of changing exhibitions takes place throughout the year. Artists often loan items to be displayed for periods at the University.
Sculpture walk
The University’s sculpture walk, which includes works by Barbara Hepworth, is a great way to discover the Streatham Campus grounds while viewing the sculptures in our collection. There are 24 sculptures set both in the open and in University buildings. You can download our self-guided tour of sculptures on the Streatham Campus in PDF format.
We also offer a new audio-guided sculpture walk on iPod that enables people to listen to expert commentary whilst looking at the sculptures on campus. The iPods can be borrowed Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. This free service is available to everyone – local residents, students and staff – providing you with an opportunity to find out more about the sculptures, the artists and why they chose particular locations.
