Richard Atkins had a long career in schools, Further Education and Skills as a teacher, manager and College Principal. He was Principal of Exeter College for 14 years before being appointed the Further Education Commissioner for England. He retired from FE in 2021. He has significant experience of governance, leadership and improving student outcomes across all sectors of education. Richard lives in Exeter.
