Point Exe key facts
Please note - this residence is only available for the 2019/20 academic year.
Point Exe is just 15 minutes walk from the University's Streatham campus and the City Centre. It is close to the student village at St David’s where facilities include shops, a deli bar and hair salon. A free of charge University of Exeter mini bus runs from the entrance of St David's to both the Streatham and St Lukes Campus Monday to Friday.
There are 221 en-suite rooms in cluster flats of between five and seven residents who share well-equipped kitchens and lounge areas.
This is a Campus Living Villages (CLV) owned and managed residence. The University will pass your details to Campus Living Villages, who will contact you to arrange a contract.

These measurements are a guide only. In some residences room sizes vary considerably.
All standard and en-suite rooms have single beds (6'3" x 3').
What's provided in the shared kitchen?
Shared kitchens have a cooker with oven, hob and grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, dining table and chairs, vacuum cleaner and an ironing board.
You will need to bring pots and pans, cutlery and crockery.
What's provided in the bedroom?
En-suite study rooms include:
- Full carpet (excluding the en-suite bathroom)
- Wardrobe with mirror with over storage for suitcase etc
- Bedside cabinet
- Fitted desk station with 3 drawers under
- Desk chair
- Standard 3ft single bed (bed frame with space beneath)
- Internet access
- Desk lamp
En-suite bathrooms are fully fitted with:

- Electric shower
- Glass shelf
- Shaver light.
You will need to bring your own bedding (duvet, sheets, pillow etc). You can buy a starter pack through our website which includes pots, cutlery and sheets. Orders can be delivered directly to your room.

Frequently asked questions
Who will I be living with?
You will be living with other University of Exeter first year students. The University of Exeter will have allocate rooms at Point Exe based on information you provide within your accommodation application.
Can I bring my own electrical appliances?
Your own electrical appliances must be new or PAT tested. We do not permit students to bring their own heaters into the accommodation – please ask if you feel you require additional heating in your room.
In the interests of safety we discourage the use of adaptors – only adaptors with circuit breakers (usually of a long bar design) are acceptable.
If you are an international student you need to ensure that electrical appliances are suitable for use with 240V electrical supply. Any adapters not meeting these standards will be removed and only returned at the end of your tenancy.
We strongly encourage you to use only electrical appliances purchased in the UK.
Can I smoke?
No you cannot smoke inside the building. All accommodation is non-smoking.
Who is responsible for cleaning in my accommodation?
All the accommodation is self catered and residents are responsible for keeping it clean, tidy and removing all rubbish.
Can I bring my car to Point Exe?
There is no student parking at Point Exe. Only disabled students meeting certain criteria may be issued with a permit to park. Access to the car park will be given for arrivals and departures.
Are lifts available in the building?
Only block C has a lift.
Do I need Contents Insurance?
Basic contents insurance is included within your rent charge, and you will be provided with a policy document upon arrival. This is provided by Endsleigh Insurance and it is important that you check the limitations and exclusions of the policy to ensure that sufficient cover is in place for your individual requirements.
Do I need a Guarantor?
If you have been offered accommodation at Point Exe through the University of Exeter then you do not need to provide a guarantor.
All meals are included for residents of our catered accommodation (Birks Grange, Exeter Halls, Mardon Hall and Holland Hall). If you are a visitor or are living in self catered residences you are more than welcome to purchase a meal at a catered hall throughout the term and join us at one of our themed events.
You can bring guests to meals in hall by purchasing a guest voucher (valid on the day of purchase only) from the Dining Room, Manager’s office or Reception before the meal available at one of our Catered Halls. You will need to hand in the receipt at the servery.
