"One of the things that truly stands out about Exeter is how much the University cares about students. Even before stepping foot in Exeter, as an international student, I already felt well-supported in becoming part of its global community. I felt thankful for the International Student Support Team as they gave me a sense of support when it came to the visa process.

Exeter held a pre-departure event for international students in my home country, and I could bring my parents along as guests. We had the chance to meet University representatives, listen to current students, share their experiences, and see some photos and videos of the city and campuses to get a glimpse of what life at Exeter would be like. That event not only gave me the chance to meet future students but also gave my family a sense of reassurance that I was heading to a safe, friendly and inspiring place."

"I am from India, and I grew up surrounded by the stories and traditions of festivals like Holi, the vibrant celebration that marks the arrival of spring. Yet this year was particularly special for me, as I experienced Holi in a completely new way here on campus in Exeter – celebrating with friends from across the world.

The University of Exeter has long been a welcoming space for students from around the world, and for many Indian students like me, celebrating Holi on campus felt incredibly special. What is normally experienced in the streets and courtyards of India was recreated here in a university field, bringing together students from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. It was a reminder of how much importance the University places on its international community, creating spaces where traditions from across the world can be shared, celebrated, and experienced together."

"The teachers here have a way of showing you that the big picture is made of tiny, real-life human experiences, and that makes everything feel relevant and alive. And honestly? That’s rare. I don’t think many places do this well. It’s something I’ve grown super proud of about the subject I study here at this university.

I am an extrovert, and yes, I love having fun. Without a vibrant social life, even the best academic environment would struggle to win my heart. Fortunately, Exeter excels in this area as well. Next semester, I’m planning to participate in more volunteering projects, try out some dance classes with the University’s Dance Society, and explore more of the uni’s vibes.

Because at the University of Exeter, education is not confined to lecture halls. It lives in support that reaches far beyond the classroom, in friendships that grow naturally across cultures, and in community spaces that always seem to say, ‘you belong here’."

"I graduated from my undergraduate programme in the US back in 2022, so it was a bit daunting to head back into the academic sphere. I was so grateful when I discovered that there is a dedicated support team for postgraduate students. Nervous about payments? Need to chat about taking an extension? The support team can help you figure out the best path to move forward and be successful during your time here at the University of Exeter. Finances were my biggest barrier of entry when applying to schools, but I took a chance and applied for a Postgraduate Taught Exeter Excellence Scholarship and ended up getting it! The postgraduate support from the University helped tremendously to make my dream to study in the UK come true. 

Without taking that leap to leave my home country to study in a new one, I never would have known all that I am capable of or found such a fulfilling life here in the UK. Exeter has become my home away from home, and there really is no place quite like it!"

The Wellbeing Services at Exeter are a real standout. They’ve got it all – from one-on-one counselling sessions to a bunch of resources like podcasts, workshops, and evening group meetings. The team there is super approachable and really committed to helping you succeed not just academically, but in all aspects of your health. Plus, they offer a 24/7 support line during term time, so you’re only ever a phone call away from help!

Safety on campus is absolutely key. I feel incredibly fortunate to reside in Glasney Student Village, the student accommodation (Penryn Campus), where the safety is a top priority. This kind of responsive and caring environment really underscores the commitment to student safety and well-being at Glasney Student Village, making it a place where we can live and study without undue stress about our security."
