Double PhD degree studentships

The University of Exeter and Université Paris-Saclay double PhD degree agreement enables delivery of a series of double PhD degree projects with co-supervision from both institutions.  Providing studentships that are jointly funded and allow successful students to obtain two PhD awards from both Exeter and Paris-Saclay.

The collaborative partnership aims to bring staff, students and faculty together to research, innovate and tackle some of the most pressing global challenges. Shared strategic priorities of the institutions include Climate Science, Astrophysics, Computer Science and Cybersecurity.

In support of this vision, each year in the autumn term we seek prospective PhD research projects for the joint funded studentships.

PhD project proposals are accepted from sets of academic staff based across the academic communities of the Universities of Exeter and Paris-Saclay. Prospective supervisors need to complete the online PhD project proposal form.  Details of the Exeter and Paris-Saclay research project (subject) submissions, including the project proposal form can be found in the project call guidance document.

Please note funding is available for a total of four studentships per year, two homed at Exeter and two at Paris-Saclay.
