Digital Humanities Lab Workshop: Photography Basics
Want to take better, more effective photos? This course will equip you with the skills of using a DSLR.
This course aims to teach the basics of using a Digital DSLR camera – the settings you can use to control the camera and how they will affect the photos you take. For anyone interested in learning one of the photography-based techniques we cover, including photogrammetry and reflectance transformation imaging (RTI), or wanting to get better photos when visiting archives, this course provides a grounding in the principles of photography and will aid understanding of those courses. DSLR cameras and tripods are available to borrow from the DH Lab for the practical part of the workshop, but you are very welcome to bring your own if you have them.
