Event Information
The ever-changing pandemic environment brought changes and personal challenges, which have undoubtedly raised the level of anxieties and worries amongst children, young people and parents. As such, we bring you this free virtual event called “Helping your child cope with anxiety and worry” which provides understanding of how anxieties and worry manifest in children and young people and, more importantly, tools and strategies to support children and young people in practice.
Specifically, we will focus on:
- Learning how to spot anxiety and worry in children and young people
- Practical tools to help children and young people reduce worry and fear
- Ways to support children, young people and their families to boost well-being at these challenging times
- Support for parents and family carers
- Support for parents supporting their children with return to school and previous regular activities.
Speakers
Dr Dora Bernardes, Clinical Psychologist and Senior Lecturer, University of Exeter
Dr Debora Vasconcelos e Sa, Chartered Psychologist and Senior Lecturer, Anglia Ruskin University
Event moderated by Professor Manuela Barreto, Professor of Social and Organisational Psychology, University of Exeter
