Abstract

This presentation will explore the unique role of personality as one of the only replicated predictors of differential response to medications and psychotherapy for the treatment of depression. We will examine how individual differences in personality traits influence responses to both interventions, and we will consider the reciprocal effects of treatment on personality itself. Finally, we will discuss the neural systems that may underly individual differences in particular personality dimensions among those with depression and examine how those observations might be used to guide more personalized approaches to treatment.
