Join us for the launch of the new UoE School of Education’s Centre for Research in Transdisciplinary Education. Centre co-directors Kerry, Lindsay and Taro are delighted to host  Professor Bem Le Hunte all the way from the Transdisciplinary School at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for her keynote Why the world needs transdisciplinarity more than ever. Bem is a storyteller at heart, bringing deep insight into the power of transdisciplinary education and its ability to reshape how we learn, collaborate, and address the complex challenges of our times. She will reflect on the transformative impact this work has had on UTS students, academics, industry partners and an entire innovation system – as well as share stories about how TD School’s agenda has helped reimagine and reorganise her university. Bem will also share her vision for the future of our university and its role in this growing transdisciplinary movement – how we might enable learning and research across, between and beyond disciplines. Join us for this dialogue on what it takes to do TD well—and why the world needs it now more than ever. Professor Bem Le Hunte is the founding Course Director of the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), a transdisciplinary, multi-award-winning degree that combines with 26 different disciplines to explore novel approaches to the complex challenges of our times. She has also been the Director of Teaching and Learning at the Transdisciplinary School at UTS and is a Principal Fellow at the Advance Higher Education Academy. She has a BA and MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge and a Doctorate from the University of Sydney. She has worked in the creative industries through three decades and is also a novelist, published globally to critical acclaim. She devotes her research time to the study of transdisciplinary education, creativity, storytelling and transformations scholarship.
