Event details
The PenARC Implementation Science Team runs a monthly implementation science forum, usually on the last Wednesday of the month. Each session is a standalone, so just come to any that you like the sound of.
The format is a one-hour online meeting for researchers and others interested in implementation issues. Each meeting focuses on a topical issue in implementation science (see below for previous topics covered) and involves discussion based around a relevant article. There will be opportunity within the meeting to raise implementation issues or queries that you are experiencing for discussion. There will also be an opportunity to share information about other implementation science resources and events.
The articles we will be discussing at this month's session are:
Kneale D, Stansfield C, Goldman R, Lester S, Edwards RC, Thomas J. The implementation of embedded researchers in policy, public services, and commercial settings: a systematic evidence and gap map. Implement Sci Commun. 2024; 5(1):41. https://implementationsciencecomms.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s43058-024-00570-3
Kneale D, Edwards RC, Stansfield C, Lester S, Goldman R, Thomas J. (2023). What are embedded researchers and what influence do they have in public health settings? London: EPPI Centre, UCL Social Research Institute, University College London. https://discovery.ucl.ac.uk/id/eprint/10178859/1/EmbedResReport_LO051023.pdf
There is no expectation to read the articles beforehand.
