Dr. Lehuedé’s talk will explore AI’s environmental footprint through fieldwork in Chile, where local communities resist water-intensive data centres and lithium extraction. He will highlight the ethical and political dimensions of these developments and argue for more place-sensitive and just approaches to AI innovation.
