The Centre for Environmental Intelligence (CEI) at the University of Exeter are pleased to invite you to this seminar with Dr. Adil Najam, President of The World Wide Fund for Nature (previously World Wildlife Fund- WWF). Staff and students from all disciplines are welcomed.
The seminar is taking place as part of Dr Najam’s visit to the Centre for Environmental Intelligence (CEI) and University of Exeter from 29th-30th September 2025. Title: Climate and Development in the Age of Adaptation
Abstract: This talk will offer a big-picture view of where global climate policy is headed, especially from the perspective of developing countries and the growing centrality of adaptation.
Bio: Dr. Adil Najam is the President of WWF (World Wildlife Fund) International, one of the world’s oldest, largest and most respected environment and conservation organizations, since July 2023. He had previously served on WWF International's Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2019. He is the inaugural Dean Emeritus at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University and Professor of International Relations and of Earth and Environment. He served as the founding Dean of the Pardee School (2014-2022) and was awarded Dean Emeritus status by Boston University in 2022, while continuing as Professor at the Pardee School.
