Event details
Following the success of previous reading and drinks events, the South West Alumnae (female graduates) group have decided to start the year with another informal networking and book chat evening.
Autobiographies, Biographies and Memoirs offer readers a chance to learn about history, culture and human experience. They can provide an honest portrayal of the author’s feelings, record and document significant events, inspire, and allow the reader to connect with the author on a personal level. Do you have a favourite?
Come along (with or without a book) and join in the chat about the impact of this genre. As previously this is not a book club but simply an enjoyable opportunity to meet fellow female graduates and hear about what others have enjoyed reading and why.
There is no need to book. Just turn up, buy a drink at the bar on arrival (tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks are also available) and join the group in The Snug, near the bar.
The City Gate is a short walk from both Exeter Central and Exeter St David’s Station and there is some free parking after 6pm on St David’s Hill between the pub and the campus.
