HASS Inaugural Lecture - Professor Mihail Danov

The Inaugural Lecture of Professor Mihail Danov - Access to Justice in Cross-Border Private and/or Competition Law Disputes

Event details

Abstract

A drinks reception will follow the Lecture

Overview

This lecture is about access to (cross-border) justice which is a key cross-cutting theme for Mihail’s current and planned research projects in the areas of private antitrust litigation and private international law. The issues concerning the administration of cross-border justice are important because the increasingly complex nature of the transnational economic activities strongly suggests that regulatory and/or judicial proceedings in relation to the same economic activities (or the same regulatory infringement/s) would often be issued in different jurisdictions. Mihail is determined to continue addressing these issues by producing ground-breaking doctrinal and/or empirical work. This talk is an opportunity for Mihail to briefly summarise some relevant research projects, on which he works at present, and on which he aims to continue working as part of a wider research team in the years to come.

Biography

Mihail is an established legal scholar who works in a fast-developing research field which covers topics of private antitrust litigation and private international law. His work focuses on the broader theme of access to justice, particularly in cases with an international element. Setting up and completing research projects - which have practical implications – makes him well placed to promote knowledge exchange and business engagement activities. Most recently, Mihail has become a co-founding member of our Cross-Border Litigation Research Group, which aims to promote collaborative work and set the scene for highly impactful research projects.
