Event details
Sarah Irving is Associate Professor of Modern Middle Eastern history at the University of Staffordshire, specialising in the social and cultural history of Late Ottoman and Mandate Palestine and the broader Levant region. Her current research projects include a social history of the 1927 Jericho earthquake and a study of unbuilt shipping canals across Palestine from the mid-19th century to the present day. She has published widely on Palestinian engagement in history and ethnographic writing, archaeology and education between 1890 and the Nakba. She is also editor-in-chief of the journal Contemporary Levant, published by the Council for British Research in the Levant.
