The Greater Southwest Eco-Industrialisation: A Project Hackathon
The Greater Southwest (GSW) is on the brink of a massive transition. By 2040, renewable energy capacity in the region is projected to leap from 3.23 GW to over 41 GW—a staggering increase that includes floating offshore wind, industrial solar, and geothermal projects.
While this "Eco-Industrialisation" drives us toward Net Zero, it creates complex pressures on our landscape, our communities, and our existing industries.
The University of Exeter Business School and the Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI) invite you to a collaborative Think Tank and Project Hackathon. We will bring together academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and civil society to co-design viable, challenge-led seed projects ready for UK or EU research funding.
