Dr Bruce Stockley, Fisheries Science Officer, Westcountry Rivers Trust will be giving a seminar to highlight opportunities in life sciences research both in and outside of academia.

Speaker: Dr Bruce Stockley
Bruce is the Head of Fisheries at Westcountry Rivers Trust and works in Westcountry Rivers Limited as a senior environmental consultant. He is a specialist in fisheries, environmental surveys, habitat management and conservation genetics.
Since joining the trust in 2009, Bruce has been involved in developing catchment scale fisheries management plans, and the management of large scale programmes to improve our aquatic environment. He also acts as an environmental consultant in the controversial area of salmon hatcheries and fisheries improvement works.
Bruce also has considerable experience in managing international projects focused on fisheries and integrated water resource management.
Bruce completed his PhD in 2000 at the Oceanography Centre (Southampton University) on the topic of: Population genetics of deep sea fish (Black spot sea bream and Alfonsino) in the Azores and Portugal.
