Title: “Protecting the environment – an introduction to Pesticide risk assessment”
Talk will explore issues relating to assessing the safety and impact of agri-chemicals in the environment and, in particular, the issues and challenges facing us going forward.

Fraser Lewis is the Global lead of Environmental Safety – responsible for all environmental testing and evaluation of Syngenta products. Fraser has a degree in biology and a PhD in environmental microbiology and joined ICI plant protection division in 1988 based in Jealott’s Hill Research station in the UK. Syngenta is the leading agriculture company focused on helping to improve global food security by enabling millions of farmers to make better use of available resources. Syngenta cooperates in 180 countries around the world and employs over 25,000 people. Syngenta is a relatively young company being formed in 2001 from the merger of Novartis and Zeneca but has a legacy going back nearly 250 years via Geigy Chemicals, Sandoz and ICI.
