British Sign Language (BSL) in the workplace

Overview

Learning British Sign Language will enable you to communicate with Deaf people and contribute towards a more inclusive society. Our BSL in the Workplace course is designed specifically for organisations and businesses with the objective of addressing the lack of support and provision for their Deaf community, whether colleagues or customers.

The course will not only raise awareness of the challenges faced by Deaf people, it will also provide you and your colleagues the tools to make your place of work more equal, diverse and inclusive.

Who is this for?

This course is for complete beginners, who wish to explore BSL for the first time. It would be particularly useful for staff members who are aiming to make their workplace more inclusive to the Deaf community, for colleagues and customers alike.

What will I learn?

The course provides an insight into the basic concepts of sign language, including the alphabet, self-introduction, and simple dialogues on everyday topics. It will increase your deaf awareness and enable you to interact respectfully and inclusively with Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in you professional setting.
