Whole of society: building homeland defence and resilience for all
Overview
The University of Exeter's Centre for the Public Understanding of Defence & Security, part of the Strategy and Security Institute, is delighted to launch this new and innovative Executive Education course taking a place-based approach to regional readiness and preparedness.
Open to middle to senior level decision-makers from across the public, private and third sector, this course equips participants to contribute towards the government commitment set out in the 2025 Strategic Defence Review to promote a ‘whole of society’ effort to ensure homeland defence, national security and civil resilience.
What will I achieve?
You will:
- Achieve a common and deeper understanding of Home Defence
- Gain an understanding of whole of society cross-domain working
- Focus on behavioural and effective planning activities
- Test complexity of decision-making in a place-based tabletop exercise
- Identify key issues for resolution leading to better preparedness
