HASS teaching and learning, across all our ten academic departments, integrates and speaks directly to the global nature and climate crises as part of building more sustainable, just, and healthy futures. Our teaching and learning is committed to manifesting the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which provide a shared blueprint for sustainable development and a sustainable future, which set out targets to end poverty, protect the planet, and achieve prosperity for all by 2030.

Many of our faculty's modules align with multiple SDGs, showing strong curriculum integration.
The Department of Social and Politics Sciences, Philosophy and Anthropology, and the Departments of Communications, Drama and Film leading the way in offering SDG-focused modules.

SPSPA, CDF, and A&H are the top departments engaging with the SDGs. They cover a wide range of goals across many modules, showing strong focus on sustainability. Also contributing are the Law School and ECW, but overall our departments are leading the way in linking teaching to global issues.
