Research Centres

Exeter Psychedelic Interdisciplinary Centre (EPIC)

We are building a world leading academic hub for psychedelic research, education and community. Our aim is to look beyond the individual and toward societal healing, cultural renewal, ecological awareness, and new forms of collective flourishing.

We inhabit the space between: between academic disciplines; self and other; community and individuality; Western medicine and Indigenous healing; the human and more-than human.

We are also a community. A home for generative conversations across cultures. Our guides are curiosity and deep fascination, working with love and care for something dear to our hearts – and minds – at large.

Our thriving Exeter Psychedelic Colloquium meets during term time every other Friday at 3.30pm on Streatham Campus in Exeter, followed by a social event. The series is also available to join online.

Research

We lead a world-class psychedelic research programme that spans the field.

Our interdisciplinary team have a shared goal: to weave together findings across projects, yielding insights that could not emerge in isolation.

Education

Our aim is to nurture and train future professionals and thought leaders.

We offer a world-leading comprehensive postgraduate programme, in person and online, focused on the interdisciplinary study of psychedelics. Students learn about the latest research and thinking, meet thought leaders, debate ethical considerations and explore synergies across diverse disciplines.

Ecosystem

EPIC is deeply committed to effecting social change through meaningful engagement both within and beyond the psychedelic ecosystem. We extend our insights outside of the academy, engaging diverse audiences and broadening the reach and relevance of the field.

We hold leadership roles in key organisations and are all frequent contributors to documentaries, podcasts and talk series.

We participate in workshops, festivals and other events to engage with and expand minds (including our own) outside of EPIC.
