Festival of PGR Research 2026

We are excited to share that the Festival of PGR Research will take place across Streatham and Penryn campuses from Wednesday 6 May until Thursday 4 June 2026.

The Festival of PGR Research is a platform for celebrating the diverse and inspiring research that our postgraduate researchers are conducting at the University of Exeter. This new festival is an opportunity for PGRs to build community, showcase and develop communication, presentation and impact skills and to take part in a variety of competitions, workshops and interactive activities.

The PGR Research Showcase 2025 took place 1 - 18 June 2025

The PGR Research Showcase celebrates the work of our vibrant Postgraduate Researchers at the University of Exeter. 

The Showcase provides an opportunity to promote the up-and-coming talent of Exeter's research base and give postgraduate researchers the opportunity to develop their presentation, communication, and impact skills.

This year The PGR Research Showcase 2025 consisted of:

PGR Poster Exhibitions - An event designed to showcase the vibrant research of our current Postgraduate Researchers (held at the Penryn and Streatham Campuses)

This year 31 posters were entered into our Research Showcase poster competition, with displays held throughout June at the Peryn and Streatham campuses. A panel of judges from all campuses met virtually and named the following the winners of this years’ competition.

  • Best HASS Poster – Emma Weaver, HASS 
  • Best STEMM Poster – Iona Selman, ESE 
  • Most Innovative Poster – Amy Chinner, HLS 
  • HASS 2nd Place – Bethany Linham, HASS
  • STEMM 2nd Place – Devmini Bandars, ESE
  • HASS 3rd Place – Salma Hadi Alyami, HASS
  • STEMM 3rd Place – Raissa Iana Leite Jardim, ESE
  • Most Innovative Poster, Honourable Mention - Sofia Cano Toyos, HLS

The 3 Minute Thesis Competition - the opportunity for researcher to summarise their thesis in just three minutes and compete at the Exeter and National competition led by Vitae.


This year, 10 PGRs (with representation from each faculty) gave presentations on a broad range of topics from ankle stabilisation to green investments. The presentations were of a very high standard this year. Anh Le Ngu Ngo of ESE was awarded first place for her presentation ‘From Greenwashing to Green Action: The Power of Regulation’. Anh’s presentation was sent to Vitae for entry into the national competition quarter final.

Alongside Anh’s win the following were awarded:

  • Second Place - Stephanie Hunter, HLS
  • Third Place – Xiaohan Xu, HLS
  • People’s Choice - Xiaohan Xu, HLS
