Centre for Responsible Innovation

Education

We bring our interdisciplinary research and a commitment to innovative education into diverse learning environments, collaborating closely with students, academics, and industry partners. Our flagship undergraduate modules—BEM3055: Ethics and Responsible Innovation and BEM3090: Rethinking Innovation and Entrepreneurship—are supported by our groundbreaking textbook, Rethinking Innovation: Alternative Approaches for People and Planet. BEM3090 is a core module on the ‘With Proficiency in Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ pathway, designed for students from all disciplines.

Across sectors, we deliver hands-on training on responsible innovation / social and ethical dimensions of emerging technologies in areas such as engineering biology and AI, including iGEM, undergraduate, postgraduate, Early Career Researchers, and continuing professional development.

We also offer a range of Executive Education options, including AI for Climate Services and Responsible AI for Business. Through a mix of bespoke and off-the-shelf modules and workshops, we cultivate innovation, critical thinking, and ethical awareness, equipping learners to navigate complex challenges and imagine more sustainable, equitable futures.
