Charlie's PhD focuses on Jewish elements in syncretistic Greek magical texts; in particular, their interpretation by modern scholars seeking to understand Jewish identity and interreligious dialogue in the late-antique world, and their value in answering these questions.
Charlie holds a BA in Religion and Theology and an MPhil in Religion, both awarded by the University of Bristol. During their time at the University of Bristol, they were awarded the Samantha Kelly Prize for Final-Year Students, a Faculty of Arts Academic Citizenship commendation, and the Samantha Kelly Prize for PG Students.
