Dr Megan Maunder (She/Her)

Megan is the Strategic Initiatives Manager for Research Services. She leads the Research Networks team and manages the Complex Initiatives Fund. Megan is passionate about facilitating innovative and transformative research across disciplines and building inclusive research environments. 

Before joining the Research Strategy team in 2025, Megan worked in Discovery Research at the Wellcome Trust. There she led a number of cross-disciplinary research programmes, including the UK Cross-Funder Mentoring and Data Science, Tools, Technology, and Methods Strategies and managed Open Mode funding schemes.

Prior to this, Megan completed her PhD in Mathematics at the University of Exeter, exploring Solar and Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections in Complex Solar Wind Environments. During this time, she jointly built the inaugural Early Career Researchers Network for the Royal Astronomical Society and was engaged in a number of teaching, outreach, and researcher development activities.
