Overview

Our employees and workers are the most important resources we have towards achieving our goal of ‘making the exceptional happen.’ The Recruitment team supports the University to attract, source and select individuals for all fixed-term and permanent roles within our Faculties and Professional Services divisions. This site is designed to help you navigate your way through the recruitment process.  The academic and professional services process flows at the bottom of this page show an overview of the recruitment process.

The University requires all managers to apply the Business Rules for engaging workers (e.g. permanent, temporary, casual, agency, self-employed) in all circumstances unless they have prior approval to make an exception. An overview of the Business Rules can be found here

To start the recruitment process

For Divisions using the Recruitment Hub, (new recruitment system)

This only applies to the following Divisions using the Hub as part of the Pre-Launch: HR, PS Connect, IT, Digital, External Engagement and Global and the Office of Senior Vice-President and Registrar & Secretary.  If you are not recruiting to one of these Divisions, please refer to the section below.

You will need to access the Recruitment Hub to raise your vacancy request.  Raising your request in the Hub replaces both the eSR1 request form and the eSR1 for recruitment.

For further guidance on logging into the Hub and raising a vacancy request, please refer to the Recruitment Hub, (new recruiting system) section in the PS Connect Portal.

For Faculties and Departments and Divisions not using the Recruitment Hub, (new recruitment system)

You will need to raise an eSR1 request form

As you will be aware we are carefully managing our budgets so all new, replacement and backfill University funded recruitment will be paused unless there is a clear legal or statutory requirement to recruit.  Any exception requests that are essential for ensuring compliance and maintaining regulatory obligations will be subject to enhanced scrutiny.  These requests will be reviewed by the HR team, followed by our Senior Vice-President and Registrar and Secretary, Mike Shore-Nye, for professional services roles, and our Senior Vice-President and Provost, Professor Dan Charman, for academic role.  Detailed guidance for recruiting managers is available on the PS Connect Portal
