ASPIRE PRP Guidance Workshop (PFHEA)

About this course:

The focus of the ASPIRE PRP PFHEA Guidance Workshop is professional recognition for teaching and supporting learning in Higher Education.

This two hour workshop offers a chance to make a start on drafting your application for HEA Principal Fellowship through the University of Exeter's Accrediting Staff Professionalism in Research-Led Education (ASPIRE) Professional Recognition Pathway (PRP).

We'll spend some time exploring the UK Professional Standards Framework, and the descriptor for Principal Fellowship; we'll also look at your own education practice, and how you can translate this into making a claim for PFHEA.

You'll be supported in the workshop by the ASPIRE PRP team and colleagues with PFHEA achieved through ASPIRE PRP; we'll also offer the sector-wide perspective on PFHEA by including one of our critical friends, drawn from a network of PFHEAs at other Higher Education institutions.

These sessions will run online; once you've booked on to the workshop, we'll be in touch with joining instructions.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this workshop, you will be able to: - Articulate your teaching and supporting learning experience in relation to the criteria for ASPIRE/HEA Principal Fellowship.

- Describe the process of applying for Principal Fellowship.

- Reflect on your current practice in relation to the UKPSF, and identify any areas for development in building your case.

Who should attend this course? Principal Fellowship requires evidence of strategic impact on learning and teaching, with a sphere of influence in an institutional or (inter)national context.

While ASPIRE Guidance Workshops are open to all academic and Professional Services colleagues with a role in teaching and supporting learning, you might find the Fellowship Category Tool helpful in deciding which workshop to attend; we also offer workshops for Associate Fellowship, Fellowship, and Senior Fellowship.

What previous participants have said about the course:
