About this course:

The Welcome to the University event forms part of the University's onboarding procedure for new colleagues.

Effective onboarding is an important and valuable part of ensuring real benefit to you, as a new member of staff at the University.

It aims to assist you to perform effectively in your job role and within your work environment as soon as possible.

The Welcome event provides an overview of the University, its strategic direction, its governance structure and key aspects of working here.

The event includes a short presentation from a member of the University Executive Board and the opportunity to visit the 'virtual' exhibition hall in order to access key departments that can help and support you in your role.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Describe the University's mission, vision and values.

- Explain the history of the University and how the University works today.

- Gather key information about the main staff facing and staff supporting departments and the University.

- Ask questions of current staff.

Audience:

This event is essential for all new staff and colleagues are advised to attend the closest event to their start date.
