People Management: Managing Performance

Course overview: *Please note that this is a two-part course: it is delivered across two, 3 hour sessions, on different days - please carefully check the booking details on Trent before signing up.* Managing performance is about creating the conditions for individuals and teams to succeed. This session explores what performance management is (and isn't), helping managers set clear expectations, standards and objectives while creating accountability and engagement. Participants will learn how to address underperformance confidently and fairly, maintain appropriate documentation, and understand the legal considerations that underpin effective people management. The session also highlights how strong performance management supports employee development, career progression and long-term retention, enabling organisations to build high-performing and motivated teams.
Learning outcomes: As a result of attending this course you will be able to:. - Set clear expectations, objectives and performance standards. - Address underperformance fairly, confidently and appropriately. - Apply performance management processes while understanding relevant legal considerations Audience: Managers of people who want to strengthen their effectiveness and be more confident in day to day management practices.
