Stepping into a management role involves more than gaining responsibility; it requires a shift in identity, mindset, and approach.

This session explores what it means to become a manager, examining role transitions, expectations, and the challenges of managing others effectively.

Participants will learn how to build trust and create psychologically safe environments where teams can thrive.

Drawing on the principles of evidence-based management, the session explores how managers can make informed decisions and adopt practices that enhance performance and wellbeing.

The session also examines key management behaviours, including empowering employees, fostering motivation, and developing high-performing teams.

Alongside positive management approaches, participants will explore the impact of abusive supervision and learn practical strategies to recognise, prevent, and address harmful management behaviours, helping to create a healthy and inclusive workplace culture.
