This session will be DELIVERED VIRTUALLY - joining instructions will be provided beforehand.

About this course:

This workshop will provide an overview of the various interconnecting sites across social media and research analytics which will help to raise your profile as an effective researcher, maximising your presence and developing networks.

This is an interactive online webinar which will explore how to create a researcher profile across a varied array of resources and tips for utilising a suite of online resources.

There will be information on successfully utilising ORCID, Linkedin, and Symplectic profiles.

Connecting and reviewing your research in Dimensions and Altmetrics in addition to successfully utilising commercial social media sites such as Instagram, Tik Tok and Blue Sky whilst using a personal website as a central hub will also be covered.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to: - Set up your researcher profile across a range of sites.

- Connect underlying data to increase researcher visibility.

- Undertake techniques for expanding reach of research through social media.

- Utilise a model for embedding all connections into a personal website .

Who should attend this course:

The course is open to Research active staff and would be particularly useful to Early Career Researchers interested in developing their personal profiles so that their research gets more widely viewed and acknowledged.

Presenter(s):

This session is delivered by Dr Simon Strange, Research Dissemination Officer at the University of Exeter.

Simon was previously Research Manager for story at Bath Spa University.

His PhD was in creative arts education, exploring connections between art school pedagogy and the development of popular musicians.
