About this course:

Research Integrity is a priority for research funders and is a foundational value for all research.

This course explains what is meant by `Research Integrity' in the UK research context, why its important and will help you think about how it applies to your research.

It explains why there are concerns about the integrity of research in the UK context, signposts you to guidance, and explains what to do if you suspect Research Misconduct or Questionable Research Practices.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Define research integrity - gaining an understanding of such terms as `research misconduct', `questionable research practices' and `responsible research practice'.

- Recognise and articulate current concerns in both public debate and the research community.

- Reflect on the relevance of these debates to your own research.

- Know where and how to access guidance, advice and support.

- Understand processes for dealing with allegations of misconduct in research.

Presenter: Dr Sean Jennings, Head of Research Ethics, Governance and Compliance.

Currently leads the Research Ethics, Governance and Compliance team and provides support to the university's `Named Person' for the institutional research misconduct investigation process.

He has over ten years' experience of supporting research integrity across three universities.

Before the course:

Reflect on what the term `research integrity' means within their discipline.
