Showcase events

Make an impact by running a high profile showcase event on our Streatham Campus in Exeter.

Our unique facilities allow for large-scale installations allowing you to raise your profile with our students and meet informally with potential employees.

With indoor and outdoor spaces suitable for anything from giveaways to double decker buses, this event type allows you to get creative and deliver a larger, more visual and highly interactive drop-in.

The relaxed environment lends itself to promoting your organisation to those passing by, as well as those who have already undertaken research and are eager to speak in more depth about your opportunities.

These events can be arranged as a one-off activity or alternatively, you may wish to schedule in other sessions as part of your visit.

Indoor events

Indoor showcase events are located within the Forum building, in an area known as ‘The Street’. The Forum is located at the heart of the campus making it an ideal location for high profile activity. It houses the main library, supermarket, coffee shops, Career Zone, seminar rooms, and a 400 seater auditorium. A busy space, it attracts approximately 6000 visitors each day, with students of any discipline passing through.

Outdoor events

Depending on requirements, uutdoor showcase events can be held on our North Piazza which is immediately outside the main Forum entrance, or on the Great Hall Piazza is adjacent to the Forum building. These outdoor venues are flexible and can accommodate a range of activities from marquees to vehicles (subject to permission).

Bookings are made throughout the autumn and spring term, with February usually our busiest period. We don't typically run them in the summer term due to students undertaking examinations. No events run in the first or last week of term.  

Offered Monday – Friday, they can take place anytime between 09:00 - 17:00. Most organisations opt for a 10:00-14:00 or 11:00-15:00 slot but it is flexible and entirely to your choosing.  We do, however, recommend that you cover the lunch period to maximise student attendance and ask that your event is booked for a minimum two hours.

Please note the earliest you are able to set up your showcase is from 08:00. 

Showcases are advertised via:

  • The Career Zone website
  • Handshake, our internal events platform
  • An email circular to over 20,000 Streatham and St Luke’s campus students
  • Via our social media channels.  
  • Faculty-based marketing, where relevant
  • Book early to secure your preferred date – the most popular slots (especially in October, November, and February) fill up quickly.
  • Maximise your publicity – booking in advance gives us more time to promote your event to students.
  • Notice required – a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice is needed for all events, and at least 8 weeks ahead of high-demand periods (October, November, February).

Showcase events start from £300+VAT for indoor events and from £400+VAT for outdoor events. Charges include marketing as outlined above and support from our team on the day. 

Additional charges apply if access to electrical points is required.
