For students starting their programmes in January 2026
We will be delivering four bespoke workshops that you will find in your timetable. Topics include: Introduction to English language skills for postgraduate study, technical writing, data commentary, and communication competencies. Later in the term we will be providing drop-in sessions for your individual questions.
Academic Writing for Science
This course, which comprises 7 sessions, is suitable for students on all science programmes at the university and at all degree levels. Topics include:
- Written organisational skills
- Making effective use of sources
- Appropriate academic style
- Language skills for research reports
- Writing an effective data commentary
