Catered or self-catered

Self-catered

In self-catered accommodation, shared kitchens are fully equipped with a hob, grill, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, dining table and chairs, and an ironing board.

Studio kitchenettes have a microwave or combi-oven, hob, fridge with freezer compartment, and kettle. Our studios at Birks Grange Village and Lafrowda also have a dining table and chairs.

Why choose self-catered?

  • Enhance your cooking skills
  • Cook what you want when you want
  • Have fun cooking with friends

Want a break from cooking? Eat in catered accommodation by purchasing an individual meal ticket at the dining room door on the day, or with a Meal Package, which enables you to enjoy 7 or 21 meals at Holland Hall and Lopes Hall for a fixed price. Buy a package via the Eat & Shop Club app >

Catered

In catered accommodation, your rent includes 16 meals per week throughout term time - breakfast and dinner 7 days a week, plus brunch on the weekends. You also have a mini fridge in your room and access to a utility area which has a sink, microwave, and worktops so you can prepare lunch or light snacks.

We offer an excellent variety of dishes, including a vegetarian choice at every service and at least one vegan option every dinner. We also do themed nights, dedicating one night a week to cuisine from a specific country around the world. Have a look at our sample catered menus here

Why choose catered?

  • Your breakfast, dinner and weekend brunch food bills are budgeted for along with your utilities
  • Meals are eaten in shared dining rooms, so you have plenty of opportunity to socialise
  • Freshly made meals everyday by award-winning chefs
  • No fees to pay for vacation periods (you and your belongings must move out during those times)
