Level 6 Project Manager (BSc) Degree Apprenticeship
What You’ll Need:
You will need to have one of the below (or equivalent level qualification):
- A Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Construction Technician Standard, HNC, or HND in Construction)
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- A full UK driving licence
- Basic Construction experience (e.g., site work, internships, or placements)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with
- Powerproject and CATO is desirable
What You'll Do:
As an Assistant Project Manager (Apprentice), you will support project delivery from pre-construction through to completion on projects ranging from £1m to £10m. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Project Manager with day-to-day co-ordination of project teams and subcontractors
- Supporting the development of site logistics and transport plans
- Monitoring and reporting on specific work package delivery
- Coordinating design information between consultants and trade contractors
- Performing site-based Quality Assurance (QA) checks and audits
- Supporting Health & Safety induction and compliance monitoring
- Aiding in contract administration and document preparation
- Participating in client and design team meetings, including agenda preparation and minute taking
- Supporting planning condition management and contractor communication
You will also assist the Senior Project Manager and Commercial Team with procurement, valuations, and commercial reporting

Our Markets Apprenticeship is a two-year, paid programme for students who are curious about financial markets and want to start a career in banking without going to university.
From day one, you’ll be part of a front-office Markets team, learning how we support our clients through trading and risk management.
You’ll earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, and complete a fully funded, industry-recognised qualification alongside your role.
What is Financial Markets?
Our Markets teams help clients buy and sell financial products, manage financial risk and access global markets. This includes areas such as:
Foreign exchange (FX)
- Rates and credit products
- Commodities and market-linked solutions.
Markets sits within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) and plays a key role in helping clients grow, manage risk and invest sustainably.
What you’ll be doing
During the programme, you’ll gain exposure to different Markets teams and supporting functions. You’ll:
- Learn how global financial markets operate day to day
- Support teams with data analysis, market monitoring and reporting
- Help with daily activities such as trade booking and operational processes
- Attend learning sessions, briefings and insight events across the Bank
Build strong communication skills through regular interaction with colleagues and stakeholders. You’ll rotate across teams to build a broad understanding of Markets and develop practical, transferable skills.

- 20% of your time during the working week will be allocated to your university studies, in partnership with the University of Exeter.
- We will give you an internal mentor to provide career and professional development guidance.
- You will have regular check-in meetings with your line manager to evaluate your progress – both in work and in your studies.

The Fit:
We are looking to speak with individuals who are passionate about technology, looking to start their career within Software Engineering in a consultancy environment. You will be able to demonstrate this passion through personal projects or academic studies, together with or expecting to achieve next year either of the following:
- 3 x A level Grade B or above in STEM related subjects
- BTEC or equivalent Level 3 Information Technology Extended Diploma (Grade D, D, D) desirable

How to apply for a degree apprenticeship
The process to apply for a degree apprenticeship varies slightly depending on whether you are currently employed or an aspiring employee. Details of the process for both are outlined below.
Step 1: Research apprenticeship opportunities available to you
Visit our degree apprenticeships vacancies above - check back regularly as we are always expanding our offering.
IfATE lists all apprenticeship standards approved for delivery – you can take a look through which standard best suits your career goals and see which providers offer this apprenticeship. GOV.UK also offers a search tool to find current apprenticeship vacancies.
Employer websites advertise apprenticeship vacancies – if you have a particular employer(s) in mind, sign up to receive alerts from them.
Opportunities are available for you to apply throughout the year. Please check our apprenticeship programme pages for more detailed information about when to submit your application.
Step 2a: Current employees - next steps
Check you meet eligibility rules and entry criteria
- Check online to see if you meet the ESFA funding rules

Get approval to apply
- Once you’ve decided which apprenticeship you’d like to study and when you’d like to start, speak to your line manager and/or HR team about applying
- You need to achieve sign-off at relevant levels of approval before you complete the application form for the apprenticeship
Step 2b: Aspiring employees - next steps

- Once you’ve decided which apprenticeship you’d like to study, keep a look out for opportunities
- Register your interest for apprenticeships offered with the University or GOV.UK
- Regularly visit employer websites to search through the vacancies they’re offering
Take part in the selection process
- Different employers have varying selection processes. You may have to attend for an interview, or have additional stages to complete
- As part of the process, we’ll check with the employer if you meet the eligibility and entry criteria
Receive offer from employer
- If you receive an offer from the company, congratulations! You can now progress to the next stage of applying for your degree apprenticeship
Step 3: Apply to the University
Get in touch with our degree apprenticeship team via the relevant contact details for your chosen programme. You’ll be sent an application email outlining the next steps to apply.
Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified of the outcome via email from the University’s central admissions team. If your application is successful, you will need to accept your offer via the instructions in the email.
Step 4: Enrol with the University and start your degree apprenticeship!
Once you have completed the above steps, you will be sent further information about how to register to be a student at the University, and you will have to sign some paperwork alongside your employer.
That's it! You will be gaining new skills, knowledge, and experience in the workplace and through your studies, giving you a head start in your future career.
