Exeter Excellence Scholarships 2027/28 - Undergraduate *Round 1*

To celebrate the University's rise to 136th globally in the QS World University Rankings, comfortably within the QS Global Top 150, we are offering 150 Exeter Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships worth £15,000 for entry in 2027/28. These scholarships support outstanding international students to join our globally-connected university community – benefitting from Exeter's research-inspired teaching, exceptional learning environment and internationally recognised academic excellence.

• Clinical and Biomedical Sciences
• Health and Care professions
• Health and Community Sciences

• Public Health and Sports Sciences

Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences

• Arab and Islamic Studies
• Archaeology and History
• Classics, Ancient History, Religion and Theology
• Communications, Drama and Film
• English and Creative Writing
• Humanities and Social Sciences, Cornwall
• Languages, Cultures and Visual Studies
• Law School
• Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy and Anthropology

All University of Exeter UK campus-based Undergraduate (Bachelors) degrees in the above areas are eligible, except the following:

Ineligible programmes - BMBS Medicine; BSc Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography); Dual LLB/Juris Doctor (JD) with the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Brickfields Asia College LLB Law; Degree Apprenticeships. 

Entry requirements

You can apply for one of these scholarships if you:

• have International fee status (including any EU students required to pay International fees in 2027/28);
• already hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) to study an eligible Undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter, entering year one of that programme directly in September 2027.

Students progressing from University of Exeter International Study Centre (ISC) International Foundation are not eligible. 

These scholarships are intended for self-funded students.

Scholarship recipients are selected on:

• Academic merit, based on the information you have supplied in your UCAS application.  Applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they have achieved or are able to achieve the equivalent of GCE A level grades AAB. See our Entry Requirements pages for further guidance.
• The ability to demonstrate the following as part of the application process: academic and career ambition; a clear plan for making the most of the study opportunity; a sense of social responsibility and willingness to engage with the Exeter community.

A personal statement (of no more than 300 words) is required as part of the form, responding to the following questions:

1. What are your personal aspirations, and how will studying at Exeter help you achieve them? Please share the experiences or motivations that have shaped your ambitions. (Up to 150 words)
2. As an Exeter Scholar, how will you make the most of the opportunity to contribute to the University community and represent Exeter through your learning, connections, and actions on and off campus? Please share how you would like other people to describe your impact. (Up to 150 words)

Round 1 closes on Thursday 4 March 2027 (11:59 GMT). Eligible offer holders who apply in Round 1 will be notified by email of the outcome of their scholarship application by the end of Tuesday 6 April 2027. 

These Exeter Excellence 2027/28 Undergraduate scholarships are awarded as a reduction in the International tuition fees for each eligible year of study. They cannot be combined with any other University of Exeter scholarship.
