Fulbright Scholarships: Postgraduate Student Awards - 2027/28 competition

The Fulbright – University of Exeter Postgraduate Award is available to US graduate students who are Masters candidates wishing to study at the University of Exeter. The award offers a tuition fee waiver for the first year of full-time Masters study and a living stipend of £20,003 (2026/27 rate).

We also accept scholars in receipt of Fulbright 'Open Awards' (in an arts-related discipline).

How to apply

Applicants must apply to both Fulbright and their university separately. It is recommended to make your programme application in advance of the deadline for the Fulbright application. (If you are made a programme offer, the offer letter serves as the 'affiliation' letter.)

For information about applying for University of Exeter Postgraduate taught programmes, please visit our Masters study pages - applications for programmes beginning in September 2027 are expected to open at the end of September 2026.

The Fulbright US Student Program portal is open for applications and closes on Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 5 pm Eastern Time (the year prior to scholars' intended start date). Candidates typically receive the outcome of their scholarship application by the end of April, after which Fulbright issue documentation to the successful candidates in readiness for programmes starting in September 2027.
