In today’s rapidly evolving global landscape, the combined study of Politics, International Relations, Sociology, and Criminology offers an exciting and relevant exploration of the forces shaping our world. This dynamic programme equips you with critical thinking, communication, empathy, diplomacy, research, and analytical skills as you examine societies and cultures, in addition to national and international issues. Politics focuses on domestic affairs, political theories, and ideologies, while International Relations explores global political challenges and foreign affairs. Together, they provide insight into topics such as party politics, terrorism, activism, civil rights, and international collaboration, helping you understand how political action drives change. Sociology and Criminology investigate the complexities of human behaviour, social change, and crime from a social perspective. You will explore questions about society and culture examining diverse topics like social inequality, human rights, criminal justice systems, mental health, and globalisation. Through this interdisciplinary approach, you will gain a deeper understanding of how people interact, how societies evolve, and the social causes of human behaviour.
The sessions will comprise a mix of interactive activities run by researchers across departments and opportunities to interact with current students, in addition to seeing our cutting-edge laboratories.
