History, Classics, Philosophy and Religion (Streatham, Exeter & Penryn, Cornwall campuses)

In this subject strand you will take an exciting intellectual journey into philosophy, society, history, religion and culture and examine how human experience and the contemporary world are shaped. Through sessions in History, Classics, Philosophy, Religion, Theology and Social Anthropology we will guide you to develop transferable skills such as critical reasoning, communication, research, imaginative thinking and problem-solving techniques.
The sessions will be taught in a mixture of lectures, seminars and groups by academics from our HASS (Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences) departments. You’ll also have hands-on sessions, studying the physical manifestations of history and culture with our Special Collections archive. You will be expected to attend sessions on the Exeter and Cornwall campuses.
You may also have sessions in Archaeology, Art History, Liberal Arts, Environmental Humanities, Cornish Studies and Ancient History, subject to availability.
