Politics, Criminology, Sociology and International Relations (Streatham, Exeter & Penryn, Cornwall campuses)

If you’re curious about how the world works and why people behave the way they do, this subject strand will offer you a deep dive into key social, cultural, criminal and political issues as you explore what shapes societies, cultures and governments across the globe through the lens of Politics, Criminology, Sociology and International Relations.
In Politics, you’ll look at how governments run, explore political ideas, and study real-world issues like elections, activism, and civil rights. International Relations takes this further, examining global challenges such as conflict and how countries work together. Sociology and Criminology focus on people and society. You may explore questions about social change, inequality, human rights, crime, and justice. In addition to the above subjects, you will also have taster sessions in Social Anthropology, Middle East Studies and Criminal Law. Exploring all of these subjects will help you understand the bigger forces shaping everyday life.
By studying across these areas, you’ll build skills in research, communication, and critical thinking – all valuable for future study and employment. Most importantly, you’ll develop your own opinions on key issues and learn how social and political systems influence our lives. Whether you are drawn to political systems and global affairs or social change and criminal behaviour, this programme offers an exciting study experience, empowering you to join the conversation.
