Module description
Accounting and Finance business partners require an understanding of an organisation that goes beyond the numbers. They do not work exclusively and independently, but to support and collaborate with other internal functions, users, and decision-makers as enablers of performance.
This module is designed to meet professional accounting body requirements to provide members with a working understanding of the profession in the context of business decision-making and performance. Students will gain knowledge and comprehension of the roles of managers, management theories, organisation culture, structure, and teams, strategy, and other important functional areas.
Module aims - intentions of the module
The purpose of BEA1005 is to enable future accounting and finance professionals to better appreciate the organisation contexts in which they will be working, so that they can contribute towards successful business performance in their future roles and activities.
Both the knowledge and skills introduced in this module provide a foundation for further exploration, development, and success in study and assessment throughout undergraduate study and into professional employment.
There are also opportunities to build confidence in developing and using a range of employability and communication skills that are desired by employers and professional accounting bodies.
