DESCRIPTION - summary of the module content
This module uses a new methodology combining GSPBL and EntreComp with a focus on creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, advanced technology, links with industry and 21st Century Skills for the future of work. This module aims to build your entrepreneurial competencies through interactive workshop activities and a technology push entrepreneurship Gold Standard Project Based Learning (GSPBL) project on LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanning. You will learn through industry led on-site activities with LiDAR, using equipment from our Ex Virtual Reality (VR) suite and learning about other applications of LiDAR such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) through industry guest lectures. This module should ignite the spark of your entrepreneurial spirit and lay the foundation for your entrepreneurship competence through interactive workshops with inspirational entrepreneurs, business school academics and chartered engineers.

The GSPBL driving question is ‘How can you use technology push with LiDAR scanning technology to create a new product, service or process?’

GSPBL teams will be encouraged to investigate LiDAR scanning technology to uncover and assess business opportunities using a simplified Business Model Canvas (BMC). Students are required to be creative, engage in the team activities thrive on the independence and flexibility of the GSPBL structure that culminates in a public product short video pitch summative assessment.
