Module description

This module is one of five modules included in the With Proficiency In (WPI) Entrepreneurship programme.

Students will learn first-hand how business opportunities present themselves, how they are identified, and what action is needed to capitalise on them. The module’s core component is delivered online covering the latest in business model value creation through both case studies and the business model canvas. This is built on in a series of practically-orientated Tutorials. This will enable participants to develop an appreciation for the world of entrepreneurship.

This module is only available to second year students.

No pre-requisite or co-requisite modules are required to take this module. This module is suitable for non-specialist students and intended for interdisciplinary pathways.

Module aims - intentions of the module

The aim of the module is to introduce students to the multiple facets of entrepreneurship and engage them with contemporary cases.

The online lecture content is designed to provide context and business model cases. A series of practical Tutorials are aimed to engage students in mastering the business model and value proposition canvases and minimum viable product (MVP) creation. These Tutorials give students the chance to develop a venture proposition and will provide formative assessment for the module’s final assignment.
