Module description
What does the future hold for biodiversity and how should we prioritise our conservation efforts? In this module you will consider the answer to these questions and explore the cutting-edge technologies used to address ecological conundrums such as molecular, population genetic, and increasingly genomic tools. You will gain insights through case studies in rewilding, de-extinction, sustainable use of fisheries, elephants, and bushmeat, and the latest issues in biodiversity conservation. Through small group discussions, practicals and visits to notable local conservation sites you will gain an understanding of how conservation happens on the ground, and what conservation careers are available.
