Module description

The staggering diversity of life on earth is a consequence of reproductive and survival strategies across a range of highly competitive and often extreme, environments. In this module we explore the form and function, evolution, and adaptation of a wide range of animals. You will learn about the major evolutionary adaptations that have underpinned the success of major classes in the animal kingdom alongside more extraordinary examples observed in extreme environments. Together, these examples will illustrate the importance of adaptation to survival and help you better understand the fate of animal populations facing increasingly acute pressures.
