Module description

***This module is under development***

This module will offer a contextualization of psychedelic use by looking at the variety of past uses, in the West as well as in the indigenous cultures of the Americas and elsewhere – from San Pedro cactus use in the Andean Chavín culture, to the legacy of Albert Hofmann’s discovery of LSD. Students will see the many purposes alongside the therapeutic for which psychedelics have been used, and the many belief systems associated with psychedelic experience. Furthermore, students will be shown how the past informs the present here, and how it may help determine the future of psychedelic research.
