Module description

Correct mining method selection is vitally important as it impacts multiple aspects of an operation. As a mining engineer the selection of the correct method is a fundamental aspect of your role, being able to balance multiple parameters. You will be introduced to mining methods selection and how they are applied to different ore bodies taking into consideration economic, geological and engineering constraints. The module will also develop your understanding of construction methods that are essential for excavations under varying ground conditions including tunnelling and caverns for underground space utilisation.
